Principal’s welcome

I  am very proud to introduce you to Tallebudgera State School. We have a great school that is committed to delivering a high quality education to all students. Our motto is ‘Strive for excellence’ and this underpins our whole school ethos and operations.

We have an outstanding early childhood program in prep and year one with expert teachers introducing children to formal learning in a warm and supportive environment. Our experienced and committed staff team provides quality teaching and engaging learning activities that match children’s interests and developmental needs as they progress through each year level. We have high expectations of all students and we work hard to support every one of them to achieve their best. Our curriculum prioritises English, maths and science to ensure that students develop strong foundations for all learning areas. We ensure that students with particular gifts, talented, interests and needs are supported through our collaborative year level team approach.

Trusting and positive working relationships between the child, teacher and parents is vital at Tallebudgera as this leads to greater success for our students. Building a consistent work ethic is very important to us at Tallebudgera State School. We support children to develop positive classroom and playground behaviour and to consolidate their learning through follow up activities at home. Our behaviour standards are very high and I am constantly impressed by the manners, attitudes and enthusiasm of our children.

Students, parents and staff find that Tallebudgera State School has a very positive school climate where community and parental involvement is a key feature. Our parent representative network and our P&C association provide practical support for children’s learning in classes as well as opportunities for parents to contribute and to get to know each other. Tallebudgera State School has a long history of being at the heart of the local community and this sense of connection to others something we work hard to maintain. We are conscious of protecting our beautiful natural environment, the relaxed country way of life and the values of our community. Our children, parents and staff take pride in being part of the ‘Tally’ community and I invite new families to come and find out more about our excellent school.

Yours in education
